Iowa Municipalities Workers' Compensation Association (IMWCA) | Learn more

IMWCA was created in 1981 by the League in response to the increasing cost and unavailability of workers' compensation coverage for municipal employees. Now more than 472 members strong, this self-funded risk pooling program is owned, controlled and operated by and for the benefit of Iowa's cities, counties and their respective 28E entities. Iowa Communities Assurance Pool (ICAP) | Learn more

Created in 1986, ICAP is a joint self-insurance pool that offers liability coverage for Iowa cities, counties and 28E entities, ICAP's coverage includes general liability, automobile physical damage, public officials liability, police professionals liability, property, inland marine, boiler, and machinery. Drug and Alcohol Testing Alliance (DATA) | Learn more

Formed in 1996, DATA helps local governments in Iowa comply with federal requirements related to employee drug and alcohol testing. By pooling many local government employers under one program, cost savings and administrative efficiencies are achieved. Three associations formed DATA; the Iowa State Association of Counties (ISAC), the Iowa Association of Municipal Utilities (IAMU), and the Iowa League of Cities (League). ​

Iowa Public Agency Investment Trust (IPAIT) | Learn more

​Created in 1987, IPAIT is a pooled investment program for local governments providing competitive rates with full security and unparalleled service. This League-sponsored investment trust offers a simple alternative for investment and cash management of public funds. U.S. Communities | Learn more

The U.S. Communities program provides all local agencies in the U.S. with publicly competitively bid contracts for various products and services. Cities in Iowa can piggyback on a contract competitively solicited by another public agency, thereby eliminating the need to re-solicit. NLC Service Line Warranty Program | Learn more

​The NLC Service Line Warranty Program, administered by Utility Service Partners, helps city residents save thousands of dollars on the high cost of repairing broken or leaking water or sewer lines. This program is offered at no cost to the city.
