Enjoy one of Iowa’s best golf courses and help raise funds for a great cause. The annual golf event raises money for the Tim Shields Endowment Fund, which was created to provide education and leadership development for city officials.
The site of this year’s outing will be Bos Landen Golf Club in Pella. The golf course has been ranked as the #1 public course in Iowa several times and offers a challenging and scenic round of golf.
The format of the outing will be 4-person best-shot and prizes will be awarded in flights. All city officials and event sponsors are invited to play as well as form their own 4-person teams. The cost to play in the challenge is $65, which includes green fees, lunch and prizes. Registration online with a credit card or participants may register at the event if paying with cash or check.

About the Endowment:
Tim Shields was a former director of the Institute of Public Affairs at the University of Iowa. Tim is best known from his tireless service in that capacity for 24 years until his passing on May 26, 2004. Working for the Institute, Tim traveled the state, providing leadership training, facilitating strategic visioning exercises for communities and warmly encouraging the best municipal service possible for citizens.
The Tim Shields Endowment Fund was created to memorialize and further Tim’s belief in quality municipal government in the state of Iowa. The endowment provides education and leadership development for local elected and appointed officials.
