Several organizations have approached the League wanting to assist cities with various recovery tasks after this spring’s disasters. Those offers are listed below.

Paint via the Iowa Waste Exchange Network: The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) are jointly seeking beneficial uses for thousands of gallons of useable latex paint, which have been collected as a result of our recent and unfortunate weather related disasters. Currently paint – primarily in gallon containers - is being stored in its original container at staging areas located in heavily impacted areas of the state.

As of July 7, 2008, paint is being made available free of charge for pickup through Wednesday, July 9, 2008. A variety of colors are available.
