Photo Contest

Thanks to those who submitted photos to the 2009 Photo Contest. Winning photos are displayed on a 2010 calendar distributed in the December issue of Cityscape.

We are now taking submission for the 2010 contest. The theme for this year’s contest is “Hometowns and Mainstreets: your city core.” Submissions will be displayed at the 2010 Annual Conference & Exhibit in Coralville where attendees will vote for the photos that best showcase cities in Iowa. Winning photos will be displayed on a 2011 calendar distributed in Cityscape. It’s not too early to start taking and submitting photos.

Specifications:

Only digital photos will be accepted
Images need to be a minimum of 8 x 10 @ 300 dpi. Learn more about dpi.
JPEG format is preferred
Photos must be entered by September 1, 2010
Photos must be of Iowa municipalities

Use the theme for inspiration. Photo ideas include municipal buildings, parks, street scenes, downtowns, municipal landmarks, work in the city, etc.

By entering the contest, the photographer agrees to have their image displayed at conference without any fee or other form of compensation. By entering the contest, entrants grant the Iowa League of Cities the right to publish and use submitted photos as they see fit. Click here to read the full terms and conditions.
